Having finally found a place to stay, Jonah decided to go explore his new surroundings - the deep forest that neighbored the town of Wistvale.
The birds were chirping and a mild breeze blew through the treetops, combing the lush green leaves. Wistvale wasn't a bad place to be but the tribesman never felt more at home than in the wilderness, out with nature. Despite the fact his backpack was empty he carried it along with him just in case the forest had some gifts to offer.
An hour into his trek through the forest and Jonah came across a pebbled stream, where he cupped a handful of water and drank heartily. It was nice to stop and enjoy the stillness of the woodland.

When Venom had free time off from patroling, he liked to spend it in the woods. At times he would follow tracks to just practice his tracking skills. This day he followed Jonah's. Venom wasn't very well at being steathly tho, a branch is heard being snapped not too far from his prey. He tries to hide behind a tree.

Jonah looked up after hearing a sound. On the opposite side of the stream stood a brown deer, it's body covered with white fluffy dots. It had also come down to the water to drink. It's tongue lapped up the refreshing water while it's eyes remained locked on the tribesman, instinctively caution of others outside it's own species. Jonah watched in silence, very serenely reaching down for another scoop of the cool, clear stuff.
Time passed differently out in the wild - a minute felt like an eternity...and then POP! eternity ends.
As if without a care in the world, the young deer casually made it's way back into the folds of the forest, disappearing from sight, almost as if it had never existed. The tribesman smiled. It was the small things in life - the mini miracles of life - that he loved, the momentary events that, to an ordinary human being, would go unnoticed or disregarded for some inconsequential occurrence.
After another handful of water, Jonah got back to his feet and decided to follow the stream as it made it's way down the gradual slope in the terrain.
((If you'd like a GM I'll be more than happy to help. For now it would seem you have some good roleplaying opportunities coming up.))
The serene scene in front of Jonah continued as he followed the steadily flowing stream. Jonah (and Venom) could hear squirrels chattering in the trees. One squirrel jumped across a gap in the branches between two trees and another squirrel followed quickly, chasing the first squirrel around the limbs and trunk of the tower that provided them shelter. The sound of the stream provided a beautiful background for the varying voices of the wind as it made its way through the leaves and branches of the trees. The air was cool, the sun was warm and the breeze was light but present. One would be hard pressed to find a more glorious day than this.

Venom decides to come out from behind the tree and find out who this man was who seemed to care about the wilderness. He calmly begins to walk towards him and stops but a few feet away from him.
My name is Venom. I am training to become a guard of Wistvale and come here at times to keep an eye out for any mysterious people who may seem like a threat. You don't seem like one, who are you?
Rue set out from the town early in the morning, bow in hand, planning to do some hunting in the woods. The Tavern food was good, but there was nothing like freshly-caught game, cooked over your own fire. Walking through the forest, she easily shot a rabbit and cooked it right away - she was starving. As she continued to hunt, she found a stream and began following it downhill looking for more prey until she heard a voice. All she heard was "seem like a threat," so she backed into the shadows, creeping along the treeline until she could hear what seemed like a man's voice over the gurgling of the river.

Oh, hello.
The surprise on Jonah's face lasted only a split second before it was replaced by an amicable smile.
My name is Jonah and, although i'm a mysterious person, i'm only a threat to wrong-doers. If your training for a position on the guard then I suppose that makes us allies.
Both voices seemed vaguely familiar to Rue, so she stepped out from the shadows to see who was there. When she got near enough to see the face of one of them, she recognized him by the tattoos and red hair immediately.
"Venom!" she called out, walking over to him. "What brings you out here?"
As she walked up beside him, she looked to see who his companion was. When she saw his face, her blood ran cold.
"Y-you're the man... from the Tavern... with the i-injured." She knew where she had heard the other voice from, too: this was the man she had encountered in the Tavern. He had asked for help to save his friend, but she knew she had failed. Guilt washed over her as she stood there in the no-longer-so-warm sunlight, anxiously awaiting a response.

Jonah smiled at Venom's apparent mistrust of him. I guess it was to be expected from a trainee town guard.
Unless my reputation proceeds me then you probably know nothing about me, therefore...i'm a person of mystery, yes? And-
The tribesman's smile widened at the appearance of the young woman who'd tried to help save the coach driver in the tavern. He gave a courteous half-bow.
Hello there. Have you also been enlisted into the town guard?

At his smile, warmth flooded back through Rue. He doesn't blame me. Thank God, he doesn't blame me. She had desperately hoped he wouldn't: she did not want the blame of another death on her head.
"No, no guard duty for me. I'm merely out here hunting," Rue said with a shake of her bow. "I never got your name at the Tavern the other day. I'm Rue Vera." She offered the tribesman her hand.

Jonah's heart fluttered a little at the mention of hunting. Having been born into the Akaiya tribe he was well versed in the art of the hunt - yet another skill he'd been taught from boyhood by Master Farroh.
He took Rue's hand and gave it a lingering shake as he looked into her eyes.
I am Jonah Pureheart, tribesman of the Akaiyan people, intrepid wanderer from the Yonderlands, and fellow hunter...and it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Rue Vera.
Having almost completely forgotten about Venom, Jonah released his lengthy hold on Rue's hand.
I wanted to thank you again for what you did in the tavern - it was a great kindness you showed my friend and i'm certain he was grateful for trying. I hope you do not blame yourself for his passing, he was obviously beyond our help.
He gave a reassuring smile.
May I ask how you learned to heal?

Rue looked down at the mention of the man from the Tavern.
"I'm so sorry for your loss, I assure you I did the best I could. As for learning to heal, my mother was an excellent healer and she taught me some of what she knew before she..." Rue paused, looking for the right word. "...disappeared. Shortly after she was gone, I lived on my own and learning to take care of myself was essential. By studying other healers I came across, and a lot of trial and error, I became better. There's still much for me to learn but I knew enough to keep myself - and sometimes others - alive."
Looking back up at Jonah, she glanced from him to Venom.
"So, guard duty? All the way out here?" She didn't know much about the guard or how it worked, but she was surprised it extended this far into the forest.
Venom was about to answer Jonah when he too turned around and had seen Rue come out from the woods. His legs wabbled a bit at the sight of her walking towards him. It was a though she was his weakness. He had never felt that way before for anybody else. When he was about to respond her, he stopped when he saw her facial expression change rapidly at seeing Jonah. He remaind silent as they spoke about some incident in the past and noticed how Jonah held on to Rue's hand as if he too may have an interest in her. When she asked him another question he finally saw the opportunity to reply.
Well truthfully I'm not on patrol right now. I like to come here and practice on my tracking skills with the wild and people in general around these parts. Lucky for me to have found the both of you here today. It interests me alot that you are a healer. I have never met one before. If the day ever comes that we are under attack, we will all be very lucky to have you by our side. Have you ever thought about teaching others your skill?
