Kerag shook his head.
"Nope, but it any case I'm happy for you. Nikole...tis a good name."
He thought back to when Dra'tok was so young and small, and smiled at the memory. He was envious of Charles and also sad for his current predicament, having to work while separated from their newborn.
"Hopefully the situation takes a turn for the better, so you won't have to live here alone for long."

Yeah... He looked forlorn for a moment, but his cheerful smile came back quickly. He began to saw the planks, cutting them into the rectangle shape of the door.
They should be visiting soon. I'm sure Anri would like to meet you. He cleared his throat.
So, about the designs on the old door...
A good scientist is a person with original ideas. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible.

Kerag smiled.
"Good news! It would be a pleasure to meet her."
The orc stood up, going inside the house and retrieving the embroidered design, enjoying the animal designs and trying to avoid contact with one of the strange shapes.
"Can you replicate it?"

He paused for a moment to study it, not wanting to look at it too closely.
It's gonna be a little...hard...what with the...squiggly shapes. And things I don't like looking at. But I can try to get everything else. He shook his head, going back to the boards.
Why was that even there?

Kerag understood Chaz's meaning, not even sure if what he wanted was possible given the oddity of the request. He shook his head laughing.
"Probably had something to do with the Necromancers and their deities. Timeless creatures I believe they are called, from somewhere else beyond this world. I found it novel, should have been more considerate and not broken the damn thing apart. Do what you can Charles, I just need a backdoor."

"Excellent."
Kerag laughed, red smoke dancing from his nostrils.
"They were using it to house contraband, we came back and confiscated everything we could find. Figured it the best spot to settle down. Who knows if any 'nasty' magic still lingers here, doesn't concern me too much. Maybe you haven't noticed Charles but not a lot of things scare me." The orc chuckled.

Kerag laughed, pointing at Chaz's tools.
"Being brave and being stupid are sometimes not always a separate affair. Believe me, smashing things is fun but I'm envious of your inventive talents."
The orc pantomimed hammering a sword.
"If I had your technique I could forge a beautiful weapon."
He grinned fantasizing about it. Then he looked as if an idea struck him.
"If you ever need help around the Smithy let me know, maybe I could pick up a few things on creating fine weaponry."

It's a deal. The door was put together, and Chaz had the hinges in his pocket.
Here, see if you can help me carry it to the doorway. We'll hold it there and put on the hinges. He went to one end of the door and strained, trying to lift the heavy wooden structure.

Kerag grinned back, happy the cat accepted. He grabbed the other end of the door, lifting it with relative ease, noticing Chaz have some difficulty with his end.
"Got it Charles?"
The orc started walking over to the doorway, intending to set it straight for Chaz to put on the hinges.

Kerag looked down at the Cat and smirked, surprised at the question.
"Once there was before I was exiled from the clan. We weren't exactly a monogamous culture, and I kept several women before I was taken away into slavery. The one who bore my son, my mate wanted nothing of me when I returned. I never saw her again after I returned to Mirengrote."
Kerag lightened up, keeping the door in position.
"Tis old news, and nowadays I only have fun with wenches and keep to myself mostly."
