"It's not an entirely powerful device but will instead flood the room with a noxious smoke. We can provide you with protection. During the confusion, we will storm in and arrest the lot. A shame if they resist though. Our first priority will be to rush you out, to avoid any collateral damage. The captain nods and produces a set of keys. He stops with them in the lock though.
"I am curious Mr Boon, we haven't discussed your payment. Let's consider this captive negotiations."
The captain smiled and turned the key all the same, opening the door.

The captain unlocked Orp's shackles and opened the door for him with a smile. They entered the other room and the guards all looked their way expectantly. The captain addressed them all with a wave of his hand.
"Listen up boys, Mr Boon has graciously decided to help us out. Plan Smoke is in effect. Gear up and be ready within 5 minutes."
The men all got to making their last preparations. The captain meanwhile handed Orp a pouch.
"That's 50 gold Mr Orp. I'll have another once this operation is complete. There will also be the matter of his wares. We will confiscate and destroy all illegal merchandise, but there may well be some spoils."

The captain goes over to a table and then lifts up a belt. It look simple enough and appears to have a small luggage component on the side. He hands it to Orp.
"The pouch is the device. You simply flip the lid, it's triggered to work in that manner. The gas will disperse very quickly and we will be in just as fast. Make sure you're not too close to Axel, I'd hate to see you taken hostage.
At any rate, the gas will cause a great deal of coughing and obscure vision in the room. The simplest way for you to cope with that is with a damp cloth. I would suggest wearing it about your neck and using it once you've deployed the device. Here's the snakeweed. Turns out there's a little extra, it should certainly make things progress more smoothly. You will know Axel by the tattoo on one side of his face.
Once he is in the room, deploy the device, cover your mouth and make for the door or safest corner should the door not be an option. We will be in very swiftly I can assure you. If you're not a fighter Mr Boo, I would ask that you simply avoid the conflict as best you can."
Orp now had the belt, the bag of snakeweed and a damp kerchief for his neck. Seems everyone was quite ready.

"You needn't worry about that Mr Orp. We'll most certainly now. It will be over before any of them have time to act."

"Mr Boon, we will be right on your tail. By the time you enter Axel's lair, we will be in position. You will have eyes on you at all times. Ready lads?"
Everyone was indeed ready. The guards were now all cloaked, their lower faces covered. Very covert. At the captain's nod, they all flitted out whichever door was closest and were gone. Orp was now alone with the captain.
"After you Mr Boon, I won't be far behind. You're perfectly safe."

Orp walks out the door and onto the street. He was planning on stopping by his house to drop off the gold and a few lizard weed plants but that was unlikely now with the Vanguard right on his tail. He walks through the town square and eyes up the density of the crowd and hos easy it would be to disappear.
He walks down the merchant's alley and follows that fish lady's instructions towards the store he had been in a while ago. He tightens his grip on the bag of lizard weed as he approaches the front door. He enters and walks up to the front desk.
Orp would likely have a hard time simply vanishing in the crowd, depending on circumstances. At any rate, he is back at Axel's storefront cover and the very same merchant he first spoke to is there.
"Well well then, if our little errand boy hasn't returned. I am going to assume you have the goods. You won't like what happens if you don't."
