Seeing Kiko charge her had caught her off guard. As Grayell's blodyguard closed her distance, Solena had prepared herself to cut the assassin with her blades, having pointed them both at her ready to strike, but Alec had come to her aid. She felt a relief not having to draw blood then and there, he had stopped what could have been someone's death. She watched him for a few seconds and realized how much he was risking to save her, even from Grayell. She calmed and slowly lowered her blades on the table in front of her. The metal objects around them came to a halt. She covered her face with her hands and began to weep.
Margrett got up and put herself between the two women, lookng from the snarling wolf to the crying elf. She stepped close to Kiko, putting a hand out toward her, a little put off by the sudden wolfish change. She talked quietly, looking to Solena a bit sadly.
She's damaged, Kiko. She didn't know what she was doing. Don't hold it it against her.
Grayell scowled, his lips quivering. His eyes were on Alec and were far from pleased. No, it was entirely reasonable that he was pissed... but they would discuss that later. At length.
He huffed a shot blast of air through his nose, a single syllable of a dismissing laugh, disrespect for the fool scholar and looked back to Marg. He strode to Kiko's side and his hand lazily fell onto her shoulders, pulled her against his hip.
If you aren't taking her in, we have an issue. She's dangerous, damaged or not.
Kiko's teeth slowly disappeared. Her head came up when Grayell laid his hand upon it, and her ears and tail returned to their normal positions. She was still watching Solena.
She'd heard Margett, of course, but she also knew the Wolf was angry, she felt it vibrate through her skin. Then the mage spoke, and an audible growl came from her.
Eternity
“Put some clothes on, you weird, yellow-eyed, table-dancing, werewolf-training, cryptic, stare-me-right-in-the-eyes-and-don't-even-blink wench.”
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"He'll not kill you," Alec says, trying to be soothing. "I promise it. If it would make you feel better, I could accompany you and stay with you." He glances quickly to Gray, then at Marg. "In fact, it'd probably be for the best. I'd not like to have my jail cells ruined if you can't control yourself - which you seem to have some trouble with."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Solena was now in the hands of Marg and did not struggle at all. There was a feeling of relief hearing the metal mage's words so she just waited to be taken back to the jail house. Her mind still thinking of what could have happened to Charlotte and if it was her fault for letting Grayell get passed her. Maybe her dear friend would have still been around and had saved her from the problem she was now in. Her head was low and her hair covered her face as her eyes stared to the ground. A lullabye Charlotte used to sing to her when she was younger she began to reminisce. Softly she began to hum it to herself, hoping it would calm her even more. It was a lullaby only a pirate would recognize and unknown to anyone else. She had finally given up on defending herself and her life was now in the hands of Wistvale.
Hesitating only once, Margrett led her by the arm out of the library, pulling her gently back to the Jailhouse. On the way out, she threw a strange, clouded, pained look to Gray.
