Rubbing his temples, Alec manages an exasperated "Aye."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
As each one threw their hand up, Celephai felt a twinge of vicious joy. They would each give up their individual freedoms for security. Even if the black marketeers had their market untouched for now, it is only a matter of time before the eye of a greedy or paranoid government would turn upon it.
She remained silent, comforted by the knowledge that they would make a council of their own.

Grayell looks around as people speak up or choose to remain silent, some even disagreeing. One thing is very evident though, the majority - the vast majority are in favor of a council.
Alright then, seems we agree. To those of you not fond of the idea I will again state that I have no desire to see a council interrupt your business, unless it is declared loathsome or unwanted within the town. That does not pertain to the selling of supplies to more... unethical trades but will certainly see an end to the poisoning of our children through unsafe drugs and slave trade and so on. If I have any say anyways.
Which brings us to the next decision to be made.
If you wish to be eligible for nomination to the council, I would ask that you stand now with me. Voting for someone who wants no part of it serves little purpose, come let us see who truly desires to better this town.
Oh - and if you are concerned that the council will not represent your best interests or trade - then perhaps you should consider yourself for nomination.
As I see it, we need representation for security, labor and agriculture, finance, fair and diverse trade and intellectual pursuits.
I would suggest we need 3 or 4 council members at the most.
If you would like to be eligible for nomination, stand with me and if you feel the need, speak your piece.
(OOC because any more than 3 is a pain to get anything done lol.)

Perhaps it was impulsive, or even too quick a decision given her habits, but for to long had the mage traveled with no set destination, no goals other than to move far away from that snowy mountain where a werewolf took her fantasy away.
Perhaps, it was time to make a change in not only her life, but for some new people, give herself a new ambition to follow.
Stepping forward, Serenity gave a slight bow to Grayell and brought her head back up with a smile on her face, "I would be honored to serve these people."
Auron held back. If these people wished so desperately to offer their services, then very well. He stayed, although he disagreed wish what this could bring about to this town. But he wondered if these people were really pledging themselves to the town, or to the charismatic speaker who had the authority to bring everyone together for this.
