Antonio bumbled along with little thought to his surroundings other than potential size of his quarry. It was apparent that this trail went on quite aways and having turned this way and that, he could no longer see the woods. Rounding the next corner....
He found what was left of the Yakow. Very, very little. It was a bloody mess, a hoof here, a horn there and blood and guts most everywhere. There was little meat left on the bones which appeared to have been picked clean, cracked open so the marrow was fed upon.
Stranger still, was what looked like a crudely fashioned mat, thrown together from branches and surrounding shrubbery. It was flattened, something had rested there.
Antonio started by checking the area, looking for the bear, making sure it wasn't around. He then checked the mat to see if the bear had recently been here. The last thing he did was taking a look at the leftovers of the Yakow, since he wanted to know what he was up against, was it a bear or was it another more powerful animal. Using my Survival skills.

Antonio had some time in the outdoors and could wean some basic information from the scene as he investigated. There was brown fur on the matting, but something about the scene simply seemed strange to him. He drew a blank on why though.
Investigating the corpse showed it had been pretty well picked clean - other than the mess made. Unusual eating habits.
This couldn't be a bear. They don't use mats to sleep on and they wouldn't pick the corpse clean.. It had to be something else.. He just didn't know what yet, but it had to have some intelligence.
He looked for another path, leading on. The animal might have moved on and he had to track it down. It might come back and take another animal from the laborers. He drew his sword as he walked around. The 'monster' might walking around in the surroundings, looking at him.
He hears it breathing first, a massive, heavy, humid breathing that hit the back of his neck like an open kiln. It was behind him and the sun cast it's shadow - it's massive shadow, engulfing his upon the ground with little effort.
Yup, Old Bear was immediately behind Antonio now and it was massive.....
How could I miss it.. It's MASSIVE.. Lets hope it's more intelligent than most bears are.
The breath of Old Bear was heavy. It hit his neck in waves and it didn't take long before small droplets went down his neck. His long hair was already wet, because of the humid from the breath. He could clearly smell the breath too.. It felt like putting your head into a dead and rotten animal.
He turned around slowly, while drawing his blade at a very slow pace. "You're no normal bear." He took a few steps backwards, trying to get some distance to Old Bear. "I haven't seen bears laying on mats or picking corpses clean. Do you even understand me?"
He had drawn his blade and held it in a defensive position in front of him. He was ready, if Old Bear decided to attack, and hoped he was strong enough to take the blows from this massive creature.
Before he could even register what was actually on his heels, a massive weapon damn near took Antonio's block off. If not for Ol' Bear betraying his presence, he would have been killed in one decisive blow.
"RGGGGRRAAARRRRR!! WHY YOU FOLLOW OL' BEAR?"
The man/creature THING wound it's weapon back and overhead, preparing for another strike.....
(I want you to rp combat here but you won't be able to decide damage or major blows.)
Antonio was hit hard. His sword took the direct blow, but the energy and pure power of Old Bear sent him flying. He hit the ground, but got up as fast as he went down. He shook his head and looked directly at Old Bear.
"I was looking for the Yakow over there. You took it without permission."
He still had his blade in his left hand and started moving towards Old Bear. He was a couple of meters away when he grabbed the blade with his right hand too and raised it to the left of his head. He swung the blade towards Old Bear to hit his stomach, before he could get another blow on him.
Ol Bear didn't bother with the incoming attack and instead lashed out wildly, the blunt end of his weapon ringing on Antonio's armor and sending him flying a good 12 feet or so. This creature-man was intensely powerful, but arrogant.
He stood there, snarling and laughing at the same time.
"I gotsta eat too ya know. You look right tasty tho...."
Antonio hit the ground even harder this time, as the air was pushed out of his lungs from the powerful blow. Old Bear was far too powerful for Antonio, he had to outdo him on something else, if he was going to have a chance.
He got up slowly, trying to regain his breath. This monster was all muscle and power.. Hitting hard but slow.. Antonio had to use his speed and mind to outdo Old Bear.
"I taste bad.. Kind of like whey cheese.." He said with a smile, while he was getting up. He took a defensive position again. "You know.. Some kind of brown cheese that taste like crap.." He waited for Old Bear to take another blow at him, but this time tried to avoiding it (using agility), rather than just blocking it.
He would hit Old Bear right after avoiding his attack, if he was able to.
Antonio was quite accustomed to his armor and wasn't entirely slow on his feet. Ol Bear again lumbered in for an attack and swung his huge weapon at his lithe opponent, but whiffed.
This time his weapon came crashing into a rather large tree - and stuck. He yanked on it, growling in frustration, leaving himself open. This was Antonio's opportunity to strike!
Antonio saw his moment and was going to use it. He moved his sword from the defensive position and attacked right away. He swung his sword at Ol' Bear with all his power.
Antonio rang down on the massive bulk of the creature and his sword sunk deep into it's side. The massive bear roared - and cursed things I won't be typing here - then released his weapon. Instead, he punched the tree and caused it to splinter, falling over. His eyes were enraged, bloody red and locked onto Antonio.
Antonio looked Ol' Bear directly in his eyes, as his own eyes narrowed. This is a problem.
"This is what happens when you hit me hard.."
He took his weapon back and backed off quickly. Once again, a defensive position, but he didn't stood still. He was still backing off. His eyes moved from one eye-corner to the other looking for a good tree to hide behind for the next hit. But he had to move fast.
Antonio was quick to notice a game trail to his left, it weaved through the trees as game trails often do and was surrounded by some rather hefty looking trees. Enough to keep Ol Bear off? Maybe. It was also overrun with hackberry vines and so on, enough to slow him down as well.
His only other option was to continue toe to toe with Ol Bear.
