You don't have to give me gold for this. These are just two of the races I've mentioned or used in threads and thought I'd provide some more insight on them.
Talissi – Lizard folk native to the swamp and marshlands of Asfalon, in the old days the reptilian race kept to themselves in their humid homes stalking prey from the water like crocodile and living a tribal existence that made them foreign to the outside world. In recent times, however, some Talissi tribes, notably the Talady, have found a knack for the merchant trade and started companies around the continent finally making themselves known to modern civilization.
Their biology is much like the common lizard only built to support an upright structure. The hind legs do not fully straighten and so Talissi appear as if leaning forward, using their tails to balance the weight to stand properly. Their scaly skin also varies in coloration with dominant colors depending on the tribe the Tal hails from with subtle differences along the belly and crown. Alpha males grow crests down the center of their crown and sometimes, but rarely, horns.
Much like their common ancestor, Talissi are cold blooded and are more active during the day where their movements can appear sporadic or even reckless. In truth, Talissi minds are sharper and think rapidly in the heat where everyone and everything around them appear slow. This gives others the impression that the Tal are impatient when in reality they simply find other races sluggish thus their preference for working with their own kind. However, come evening time when the sun settles they too find themselves becoming slow and tend to retire sooner than warm blooded species.
Quatrian – A rare being in Asfalon, Quatrians are humanoids who have grown an extra set of arms and are thought of as having been the result of some kind of dark magic. Their origins are unknown even to them, and their appearance has made them outcasts in most societies, forcing Quatrians to hide their extra arms under cloaks or large clothing, sometimes even going as far as to decapitate the extra set entirely. They were at one point a slave race in the last age, their physiology making them ideal for strenuous labor until a revolt set them all on a nomadic path.
On average, a Quatrian is taller than a human with height ranging commonly between 6’1” and 6’5”. At birth they are born with four arms and throughout childhood until adolescence tend to favor one set more before learning from their parents to use both equally. While all Quatrians learn to coordinate their limbs it is difficult to perform multiple tasks at once despite what myths may have others believe. Only warriors train to have their arms act independently of each other so as to take on multiple opponents in an overwhelming scenario.
Quatrians are rarely seen in civilized society, their past history as slaves leaving a terrible mistrust of others and only appear in populated areas wearing large clothing so as to hide their limbs. Single families tend to roam the land, never staying in one place for long before moving on to the next. Of course with their strength and prowess with weapons, Quatrians are often recruited into mercenary bands to be used as intimidators. After all, who would want to run into a man brandishing four blades at once?
