Red casts his spell and the dark of the world makes sense to him. Through his enhanced vision he studies his surrounding.
At first it seemed though he were truly alone with the two sentinels, but the moment his eyes laid on something that seemed to be hiding over on the roof of the next building, the shadow faded away from view. Perhaps it was just a figment of his imagination. Either way, Red was clear in the immediate area.
"It's a pleasure, Miroslaw," said Roger after a firm shake. "You have a sword grip on you."
He backed away as if he thought he offended Miroslaw before explaining himself, "My apologies, perhaps a bit presumptuous I'm sure not all of your people are warrior class. However, if you are, might I interest you in a proposition?"
Serenity seemed not at all bothered by the topic of business, at least, not as much as her young friends who appeared to dread where this was going.
"Why don't you ladies seek refreshment for yourselves while I chat with our new friend?"
Glad enough for the excuse, the Freer girls departed from them to look for a wine glass carrier.
"Well, Mr. Relahur, you're in luck as tonight not only is a member of House Trydent here, but also the merchant taking charge of the sea route from Highever to Wistvale."
Hoid knows enough about Highever's economy that House Trydent does the majority of seafaring trade and is responsible for much of the city-state's wealth.
"At the moment, Wistvale serves as an alternate route for goods from Lorne and other nearby settlements that would otherwise take us weeks to reach. And the roads are never safe. So we're looking for more mercantile businesses to take part. A small business venture that specializes in spice or raw materials not available in Highever would indeed be profitable with this new relationship."
Serenity poked her head over to the Highever side of the room as if looking for someone before turning back to Hoid.
"I would suggest chatting with Mr. Nautilus over there. He's the merchant I mentioned, his ships will be travelling to and from Highever. I am only going to be part of the office that inspects the goods coming and going from here so I can't help you further," she nodded her head apologetically.
"But do try to enjoy yourself, there's always time for business tomorrow."
"Have you heard of the arena in Highever?" Roger Bacon said to Miroslaw, "It's where the merchants pit their fighters against each other, the best magic talent the city has to offer. However, none I've seen have the strength you clearly possess. You would do well standing on its sands, with plenty of money to be made."
