Well, I wasn't about to name this 'the knock off your shit.'
So I read the chat today and am going to say a few things. I'm not calling people out, I'm not pointing the finger and I am not discussing this.
- Players and GMs should not be discussing potential outcomes in the chat. It completely flies in the face of the game to clarify what an outcome of a course of action will be. That's metagaming and to my mind, it's cheating. This behaviour is against the rules and in game, is penalized with no exception.
- You do not post, discuss your post and then edit your post because you have changed your mind.
- Players should not argue with staff in the chat. End of story.
- Players should not question, challenge or accuse of fudging or anything of the sort in the chat, or anywhere on the board. If you cannot appreciate the person taking the time to run an adventure for you, then you have some thinking to do. There is a constructive way to discuss matters with your GM, but deciding that you know better than them in THEIR story is unacceptable.
- The lewd behaviour and crass innuendo in the chat needs to stop. It's crossed the line a few times recently and really, is just childish.
Now let me explain why all of these things are issues presently.
The chat is the FIRST IMPRESSION that visitors have to our site. I'd appreciate it if we could conduct ourselves in a manner that might attract new players, rather than it being filled with vulgarity and argumentative nonsense. Yes, you should be able to laugh it up and carry on in a silly manner, but I am drawing the line in the sand.
Or rather, just pointing out that it's always been there.
