The duo successfully eluded the shambling mess of skeletons as they made it up to the next floor. As they stepped through the landing of the stairway, however, a hidden door slid down across it, almost catching Tallia's tail in the process. With it in the way, there looked to be no going back, and it didn't seem it would bend willingly to any normal force, either... As far as the two could see, there was yet another staircase directly across from them. To the left of them wasn't quite visible, but from what they could see, it looked to be another hallway of rooms. Only by moving forward could the two gather the layout of the floor. Tallia slouched against the right wall, catching her breath. She wasn't sure that what she just saw was real...
Margrett stood facing away from the door a moment, then silently slammed a fist against it, setting her jaw and letting out a long, irritated breath. She was quiet a moment before turning to Tallia and giving her a hand.
Let's keep moving. Better to try and find what all this is about than sit here and waste time.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia looked up at Margrett, a worried expression settled in her face. She took Margrett's hand as she straightened herself up a bit before taking a few steps towards the now blocked staircase. Running her hands over it, the material felt... strange, for a lack of a better word.
"H... how will... how will w-we get out...?"
The question came out nervously. Not only were they both lost, but they were trapped, in the middle of the night, no less, in a castle, which seems to have not had inhabitants for years. She was worried, but worrying would do them no good here...
Margrett started down the hallway again, letting Tallia follow behind.
I don't know, but we're going to figure it out. We're here for a reason, hopefully. She checked the rooms as she went, looking for anything that stood out.
