Doing as told, she wheeled around, placing her hands over her face and her head between her closed legs, curling into a ball. She wasn't going to let her curiosity kill her...
Even looking away,sh could see the flashes of light, nearly blinding in brilliance, her skin prickling with unearthly energy. She could hear whispers, distant whispers speaking to Joran. There was a long silence, and then she heard Joran talking, his voice distant too. You Are Sure? The Cult Brought Another Here? There was more whispering, as if in answer. I Understand. I Will...Find It.
Suddenly she felt a gaze turned upon her, and the whispers were closer to her. The Child Is Nothing. A Pet. A Follower. It Will Not Impede My Work.
The whispers faded, and the light died.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Her ears twitched madly, curious to know what was being mentioned, and for what purpose... She decided it was a family matter, or at least something along those lines, and just keep out of it. Which reminded her... she had some business of her own to attend to...
"I... is it... safe...? T... to turn around... I mean..."
Joran was quiet a moment. Yes. It Is. You May Look Now.
When she turned, Joran had his hood pulled down, and he was seemingly staring into the purple embers of the fire. I Have...Business To Attend To. Another Of My Kind Has Slipped The Veil.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
She turned slowly towards him, observing any changes. Taking his words in, she knew Joran must go, but felt sad that he would depart...
"I... I understand... you... h...have to go... don't you...?"
Tallia's head sunk low. It was always this kind of thing, wasn't it...?
"Um... th...thank you... for everything... w... without you... I... don't know what would have happened... um..."
She fidgeted nervously. She struggled to think of things to say just to see him for a bit longer, just in case they never crossed paths again. It was a bit selfish, she knew, but she would rather go on and do it rather than regret it later.
"..."
Her mind drew a blank, and her look worsened. Out of things to say, she headed towards Joran and embraced him from behind.
"J-just... be... be safe... OK...?"
Her good-byes done, she released him, then sunk back to the ground on her knees.
Joran looked down at her, completely still through all of his, the barest flickers of amusement crossing his face. He waited a moment, then put out a hand.
Would You Like To Come With Me?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia looked up to him, her face twisting between several emotions. First, shock, then, disbelief, and finally, apprehension. It was a deep question; going with him, or refusing to go could lead to many outcomes. However, Joran wasn't an unknown, and even if he was, why would she refuse to help him...? Confident of the choice, she nodded her head, and placed her palm in Joran's hand.
Tallia tilted her head and gave an awkward smile, wondering for a second why he had such furs and blankets, if he did not require sleep... She preferred not to over-analyze the situation, and gave Joran a short bow, before rising back onto her feet. A lot had happened today, and yet things still remained unresolved in a way... that crazy cult needed to be brought to attention, and she still hasn't delivered the potent flower... That's what tomorrow is for, she thought. Settling on the coverings, she curled up into a ball, hoping to get some rest.
The GM honestly didn't consider that, but he does for convenience's sake. She got a good night's rest, though she dreamed of purple lines and unimaginable shapes.
When she woke up, Joran was standing motionless at the cave entrance.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia groggily arose from the makeshift bed and yawned accordingly. She looked over to Joran, unmoving as always, and gave a half-hearted bow, already too tired to even stand correctly.
"おはよー A...ah... um.... g-good morning..."
Her morning habits were a bit harder to break than she realized... As though on cue, her stomach barked at her annoyingly, angry that it wasn't being utilized at the very moment. Idly scratching her head, she had hoped Joran hadn't heard her. As far as she knew, he might not even require nutrition, either... Ready to get the show on the road, she moved to Joran, tail wagging and ready to go.
Without a warning, she was taken a bit off-guard, as she rushed to grab her equipment before setting off with Joran. A bit rude for him to do that, she thought. But they had to keep moving; after all, their world was in danger...
Well, there was a sideplot here but we're going to cut it in the interests of finishing this up.
Joran approached the cave cautiously, sword in hand. This was a different one than the one they had been in before, smaller and less well hidden. The results of a battle were plain around them, gore spread on the cave entrance and bodies every so often down the tunnel. Joran frowned.
It Has Gotten Loose...Fortunately, It's Still In There...
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia tailed Joran, her sword trembling in her own hands. She didn't quite like the scent or sight of blood, even if she was forced to deal with it. Having it spattered all around her certainly didn't help. The thought of also having to deal with something as big and scary as Joran added to her growing list of "Things I Really Don't Want To Deal With Right Now", and it was already long enough... She thought about using the pendant again, but she didn't want to rely on it too much... She just hope she could keep her wits about her as she gave Joran a listening nod and whimper.
