Kerag's glowing eye widened, scarlet light reflecting off some of the gleaming suits of armor mixed with the blue from the beams. He noted the door, but found himself unable to continue without giving the first good looking pieces of equipment he'd come across a look over first. He smiled, quickly putting that nasty business with the creature behind him as he carefully examined each piece, hoping to find something interesting.

Margrett sighed rather dramatically and looked into one of the small rooms idly.
Just physical, dear. I'm not much of a..."stable relationship" person. If you get my meaning.
Kerag saw that several armors were labeled with a small plaque at their bases. It looked almost like a museum of sorts. He couldn't read them, but they obviously came from a range of places and times. Some styles and types Kerag was familiar with, some he'd never seen. He inspected them all until he came across a style he was very familiar with. At this one's base was a plaque like the others, but this one had a word on it that looked familiar; "orce," and a name, "Kuren-Oktai."
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"I'll not complain about that, either. Just like to know where I stand," Alec says, the tilts his head and thinks for a moment. "Well, where I may stand, eventually. I guess."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Her hands still on the doorway, she looked back at him somewhat approvingly.
Not going to question that? You've already got yourself points. She stepped away, looking around.
No idea where we're going. I imagine there's exits around the edge of the room, but I can't see them from here.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Travel as much as I have, you kinda stop looking at things like that too deeply. Unless invited to by the other, that is."
Looking around silently, Alec shrugs. "It all depends on where you'd like to go. The bottom floor will be workers and laborers, the second skilled workers - artisans, the third merchants, the fourth very affluent merchant, the fifth floor would have been occupied by nobility, and the final floor by the ruler of the city and his family. The most comfortable beds would obviously be on the fifth floor, but," he says, pointing up to just where the walls meet the ceiling, "that's all the way up there."

She looked up for a moment, silently, then looked to him smugly.
I like how you thought of beds, Alec. She looked around for stairs.
Hmm...I don't think they would have had anything too dangerous, so Kerag should be fine. He wouldn't do anything stupid. Let's go upstairs and see if there's any valuables left, and see if there's a door or way down in the direction he went.

"Well the most valuable things will be up there, too," Alec says, joining the search for stairs. "Depending on intent," he says, smiling devilishly, "comfortable beds can be very valuable."

Margrett waved him over as she found some stairs, raising an eyebrow.
I agree. With...both points. She started up, looking up at the staircase as it spiraled upwards, opening to the various floors. She sighed.
Well. Looks like we're going to work up a sweat before we even get up there.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Come on," Alec says, bounding up the stairs. "Can't keep up with me on stairs, well," he shoots a look over his shoulder and slows down a bit, "that just doesn't portend well for other endeavors."

Margrett calmly walked past him, patting him on the shoulder as she went.
Slow and steady, Alec. Wins the race. Most times, anyways. And besides, for other endeavors I don't usually wear the armor... She shook her head and chuckled.
How old are you, anyways?
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Nineteen," Alec says evenly, not inflecting at all, following her. "A wee bit young for you, I'm guessing?"

Not...really. At the most I'd just feel like I was doing you a favor. She shoot a playful look back and stopped at the second floor a moment.
Hmm. I would hate to have lived here with all these stairs... She kept moving.
In any case, from how you talk you're either experienced or faking it. Either way it'd be fun.
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Oh, you'd have thought nothing of the stairs had you lived here." Alec follows her, a bit more closely than before, onwards. "Oh?" he says, and raises an eyebrow. "And which do you think it is? Experienced, or faking?"

Margrett suddenly stopped and turned, grabbing Alec by the face and moving his head from side to side, smiling smugly, as if inspecting an animal. She stared at him a moment, thinking. Then she let go gently and kept moving.
I can't say. You're hard to read. She put her fingers up in front of her face, pointing to her eyes.
It's the eyes. Not that those aren't interesting in their own way.

Eyebrow raised as she inspects him, Alec smiles when she lets go. "They can change, y'know," he says, and follows her.
