Tallia looked as though she had bit into something and expected something else. She didn't quite think this far ahead... She had to come up with something fast.
"Umm... so... you guys... haven't k...k...kissed... before... right? That's... our first objective... Don't worry... this one... should be easy... We both know... how she drinks..."
She wasn't ready to lose. She didn't want to leave Grayell as he was, despite his contentment. She was going to have to think this time.
"I... I didn't mean it... like t... that... It... it was a bit of a joke... I meant... out on a date... or something... O... of course... you should never do that... to anyone... no matter how bad you love them... What I can do... is set up something... with you two... alone... I'll come along... and leave you guys at... a... um... crucial moment..."
Giving a worried look, she gave a small pout to him.
"Besides... I've... seen her before... I know what she's like... as well as you... She really does need someone... Someone carrying around all that hurt and sadness will always need someone else... She... already looks to us... as her family... Wouldn't you say... that we are the "someones" in her life...?"
Placing both her hands on Grayell's shoulders, she positioned herself in front of him.
"I mean... she doesn't have anyone... that close to her... but... that's only because she's stubborn... I hope you can forgive her... I... I just want... what's best... for the both of you...."
She leaned in and gave Grayell a kiss on the cheek, smiling.
Grayell nodded and his expression almost painted him as a tiny cat eared boy, looking entirely lost and in need of as hug. But he shrugged it off and smiled.
Thank you sweetie. I don't want to pry. But I do care about her. And I don't want to talk about her behind her back, but I do worry.
I... well I think she's a lot like me. I sobered up and have to come to terms with it. I think she might not want to.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
It seemed this wasn't going anywhere, much to Tallia's disdain. She sighed and released her grip on Grayell's shoulders. letting her arms return to her side.
"Well... I won't force you... I just want you to go where your heart takes you... That's usually... the best place..."
She stared off into the distance. Where... would her heart... take her...? She wondered about that...
Before she could finish wondering, however, her stomach growled angrily at her, displeased she had not had a meal served yet.
"Ooooh... Um... excuse me... it has been some time... after breakfast... hasn't it...?"
Blushing heavily, she rubbed her empty stomach, a nervous grin stretched across her face.
She thought about that carefully. They wouldn't need to spend coin if the world provided food for them. Unsheathing her sword, she pointed it in a direction of a stream.
"We could always... catch some fish... I know... a few spots with berries... you know, for flavoring... Now that I think about it... I haven't done that in a long time..."
She blushed a bit.
"I feel... a little spoiled... Um... unless... you don't feel like eating fish... that's understandable..."
Before she knew it, Grayell had grabbed a pair of saplings and was busy making a pair of fishing gigs. He had done it many times before and could do it with his eyes closed these days.
How about you grab some of those berries whilst I finish these up hm?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Baffled by what just transpired, Tallia had to give herself a second for her eyes to catch up with her brain. Not even bothering to question the what or how, she gave a slow nod to Grayell before dashing off to get some berries. She picked as many as she could hold, hosting any extra within a pouch on her tool belt in case of immediate snacking, and reported back to Grayell.
Grayell handed her the spear and was already wading in the water... and with a quick snap pulled another fish from it's depths. He slid it off and tossed it to the bank, which made two.
How many should we grab kiddo? Anyone home at your place? We'll have to feed them to perhaps...
His eyes were still on the water though...
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Taking the spear and kneeling over on the other side, she thought about it... It'd be the three of them... Too bad she couldn't really cook, or else she would've made an elegant dinner for the two of them.
"I... Ironically... I'm staying... with Captain Mikael... for the moment..."
Not taking her eyes off the prize, she caught a fish and tossed it into Grayell's pile.
"If... that's the case... it'd be... the three of us..."
She sighed. There had to be some way to get these two together... Maybe now just wasn't the time. Maybe they both need to chill. Whichever the case, it was clear she wasn't going to get her wish today.
"...I guess... your place is fine... I haven't... seen it around... where do you live...?"
