The information Zaedus learned from the graveyard had him both fearful, yet excited to clear his past, and possibly begin anew. He had spent the past few hours gathering supplies he may have needed. Once he decided he was ready to go he made his way to the front gate of Wistvale.
I hope they arrive, assuming of course the information relayed to them was not too much.
He said to himself as he stood waiting for his companions to show.
Skul will be GM'ing this. Awaiting the arrival of two specific people to join before starting.
Grayell stepped up beside Zaedus with a long piece of what appeared to be straw hanging from his mouth and his swords sheathed and propped over his shoulder. His shirt was removed from his arms and chest and was instead simply hanging about his waist, tied there by his sash. He'd just finished training and was sweaty, but the cool breeze obviously agreed with him.
He looked down the road and not to Zaedus. Whatever they both weren't truly looking at was certainly holding their attention.
"I hope councilman Boon can handle things while we're gone."
Serenity walked up to Grayell and Zaedus, a pack slung over her shoulders carrying her new set of boots that she obtained from the underground lab. She wasn't sure if she would even use them, but better to have and not need than need and not have. Or so she believed the saying went.
She stood next to Grayell, following his line of sight down the road and took a deep, calm breath. Looking between the road and Grayell she finally asked, "What are you staring at?"
Grayell grinned. He didn't turn his head but looked at her out the corner of his eye, as if he saw something in her that she was unaware of and he found funny in some mischievous manner. He looked back to the road and nodded.
"You mean the road we'll be taking, or is there something more beyond it?"
She squinted her eyes trying to focus on the thing Grayell was talking about. There wasn't much beyond just the road, open plain and perhaps a few trees.
I believe I do my friend, I see adventure, new truths discovered and ties to be made that nothing can break.
He looked to Grayell and Serenity. Out of anyone in this small town these two he found himself feeling the closest to. Was it the strange kindred spirit he sensed in Grayell, or the ancient bond his race once had with the magic users of the world like Serenity? He cared not, for he was in the company of friends, and the only two he felt were suited to aid him in his trial.
The narrator forgot he was supposed to be posting here. Zaedus knew which direction he was supposed to be going; north, past seven hills and two cliffs, to the circle of his ancestors.
Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
Zaedus peers into the distance, he knew what this journey meant and what it may cost. He steadied his resolve and looked to his companions.
We go north, beyond the hills and cliffs ahead. We will arrive at the ancient grounds of my ancestors.. I imagine this journey will not be an easy one but I do believe we can accomplish the task at hand.
Grayell nods and pulls the grass blade from his lips. He stretches his arms overhead, rocking back with his sword held high. He brings it down, swings it back onto his shoulder and yawns.
The hills rolled before them; it may have been hard to decide which ones were the ones he was supposed to be following. But something told him there would be some sort of sign once he reached the top of the first hill.
Of all the graveyards in all the towns in all the world, she had to walk into mine.
Serenity slapped Grayell's chest lightly when she realized he was just teasing her. She hated being made a joke. Zaedus finally starting them out, she followed with optimism down the road. Seeing the first hill that was coming up, Serenity jogged her way up to it so she could survey the land before them.
Grayell chuckled and would have swatted her rear had she not broken ahead. The weather was pleasant and this journey was sure to take some time, but it felt good to be on the move' on the road.
He meandered along behind the other two, simply enjoying being outside of Wistvale.
Zaedus was lost in his thoughts, not paying attention to the other two's antics. When he reached the top of the hill he surveyed the land. They were on the right track as far as he was concerned, for the hills kept rolling onward.
Well, one down six to go then the cliffs we meet with.
