The Arena

A passing guard heard Simeon's comment. In common but with a heavy Ogrun accent, he replied

You aint in no test, you goin ta da arena.

A scuffle down the hall caught the guards attention and he lumbered off.

Simeon was confused. He gave Jonah a quizzical look and inquired, "Do you have any idea what that guard just said?"

[John Harding]

Jonah had met few ogres in his lifetime but he could just understand what was said. He looked at Simeon, worried.

It appears we've signed up to battle in an arena. Sigh. I think we've been duped.

So much for the guardianship job.

[Legault]

((Sigh. I forgot the first thing one is meant to do upon awakening in a cell.))

"I feared as much," said Simeon, also worried, "This is not fate I would have chosen for myself."

Simeon suddenly thought to check for something, he felt down by his side to see if his butterfly swords were still in their sheath. They were special to him--a gift from the monastery and the symbol of their blessing on his journey.

Jonah tried opening the door; who knew, maybe they'd forgotten to lock it.

While they were both here, the Akaiyan thought it would be a good idea to get to know his cell mate.

So Simeon, are you a Wistvale local?

[Legault]

((I'm still curious to learn if we have our equipment...)

"I've only recently moved there. I don't even have a place to call home, yet. That's part of the reason why I took this job. I needed money in order to buy some lumber and materials from the general store. Are you a local? I know I haven't met everybody yet."

[John Harding]

Jonah shook his head.

I'm a traveller. Only been in Wistvale a day when I took this job. Need a little bit of money to get me settled in.

[Legault]

Simeon nodded. A disappointed look crossed his face. "Then I doubt if anyone will notice our absence. I suppose we are in Fate's hands now."

[Grayell]

... and they kicked ass and lived happily ever after.
