Quick raised an eyebrow at that remark. Not a wheel had turned and there was already something of an attitude problem within the ranks. Well, he was going to have none of that.
With polite smile, Quick walked on over and wrapped an arm around Ferin, "Jones, can I call you Jones? You seem like a smart lad."
Quick began walking away from the rest of the group, leading Ferin back to where the other independents were.
"Now, I'm just a rascal who rounded us all together for the sake of survival, but you seem to know a thing or two about fighting so I don't think you need to worry about anyone watching your own hide, but humor me, Jones. If you do what I tell you I can guarantee you'll get out of this one alive. I know we haven't known each other long, but trust me. I know what I'm doing."
They had stopped in front of the warehouses near the three wagons that looked like they were ready to take off soon.
[Due to Ferin's lack of kinship, he has no reason to believe that Quick is lying or trying to sell any falsehoods.]
Mostly food stuffs, with some cases of weapons and precious metals. We filled those three up with the most common goods that are taken
"Now, son, be a good lad and wait while I finish chatting up those three bosses about what to do with their boys. Then I can finish relaying to the rest of you."
Quick had begun to walk away before turning to answer the other question, "And I'm not the one paying you, you need to ask one of these scaleys about that, but I think it's a generous sum, from what I understand. Wouldn't have taken this job otherwise."
