(This thread is for Daisy, Ely, and anyone with a good reason to join in)
Daisy couldn't entirely hide the limp; her knee simply wasn't in any condition to allow her to do so. If it had just been pain, she could have worked through it; but something was amiss with the joint itself. It wouldn't move fluidly. She also couldn't hide the way her arm hung a bit limply. The hole in her shoulder wasn't conducive to holding her upper body square and solid. Still, she did manage to not look as bad off as she was while she went in search of a healer to deal with the consequences of last night's little adventure. It was a very short search to find one of the city's guards. Their uniforms were, in her opinion, rather garish and made them easy to spot. The man she found was shorter than her and had a scar along the left side of his face. He gave his name as Draxius and asked the redhead how he could be of service. Experience and a keen eye gave him a hint as to what her answer would be, but the same experience had taught him not to make assumptions.
Her response was even despite her injuries. "I'm looking for a healer. But I'm not exactly flush with coin. If you know of one that might be willing to trade services for services I'd be thankful."
Draxius was helpful with directions to a place called the House of Galena. His curiosity and duty as a guard compelled him to inquire what had brought the woman to needing a healer's services. "Might I ask what has happened that you are in search of a healer?"
Daisy gave a non-committal snort, almost as if this sort of experience was common for her. In some ways it was. "An encounter with a monster masquerading as a man; who could step within and between the shadows as you or I would hop across stones spanning a stream. There was also a cathian called Piper. Seems he is in charge of a gang composed mostly of children. And a wind wielding gangster in blue who hid his face behind a mask. All in all it was a lovely introduction to town." The last was added with no shortage of sarcasm.
Her words left Draxius at a bit of a loss. The rumor mill had already spread the word through the Sentinels about what had happened between the Vanguard and Piper last night. This though was the first he'd heard of anyone else's involvement. He was sincere when he spoke. "I'm sorry you've had such a rough time of it. I could escort you if you'd like. Perhaps you could come to one of our posts and give a statement about the incident afterwards? It would help our people put an end to such things."
The redhead frowned. "No. No, I'd rather just put it all behind me. But thank you anyway." The thank you was true, but the rest wasn't. She still wanted to see Piper and Rut dead. She wanted to punch Blue Gang Leader in the face for being an ignoramus. She wanted to see the thing called Mr Dark removed from the world; such creatures had no proper place in it. But that was all kept to herself.
Besides, right now the thing she really did want most was a healer. So she walked off in the direction Draxius had indicated would take her to the House of Galena. For his part, the Sentinel headed towards his post, intent on letting the others know there was more to the incident then they first knew; and hoping that perhaps later the woman would be more willing to talk and give details.
