How did I find the Menagerie. That is a rather long tale. Several years ago I was in a coma. The reason for it does not matter in the here and now. However. While I was trying to relearn how to walk, talk, and everything else that went along with my recovery I found IRC.
On IRC I found Grayell or rather I threated to filet him should he attempt to harm a friend of mine. It's a theme with me. LOL. Anyway, we often roleplayed in a Vampire: The Masquerade based room. Then we spent time bantering about ideologies on aliens, chupacabras, ghosts, lycanthropes, and other supernatural things on a website called the Nexus.
We played an online game called Furcadia. The graphics were terrible. The rest, well, I won't explain.
We lost track of each other for a few years. Though, we would say hello and trade quips on Deviant Art often. Eventually he tempted me into a battle and I showed up here. I have been here ever since. He's stuck with me and so are the rest of you. MUAH!
Grayell, I do adore you for all of your trust, encouragement, humor (how I love to hear you laugh) and care. You've given me plenty of things over the years; but this last gift, the sharing of your home here and Kiko's creation, has been the best.
Thank you, and Happy Valentine's Day.

We can do that. Never fear. And I do want to read this story brewing in your head. I am your biggest fan, Nu. In case you were not aware. I'm so very glad you finally decided to join us.
It has finished brewing. You can read it in my home thread if you'd like.
Ha HA! I kill you with my flaming sword of doom. You die.
I am Gray's shadow of course! I have been around for some time and we usually have fun because we are kinda opposite of one another. I remember when I first joined this place and started with 5 agility, 5 Martial Prowess and 5 Air Magic. Of course, I was good looking then too!
But other players said I was OP, because I could run along walls and jump super far lol. Wind magic FTW!
(Runs about after too much candy making whooping noises.)
Well my story would be a very long one I suppose, so I won't bother with it unless anyone asks.
However, I can tell you that this site is the best I have run in some ten years now and I am still quite certain we have it right as far as the balance between a structured system and just having plain old fun is concerned.
Believe me, if I ever tell you I've tried it before and it didn't work; I'm not patronizing you. I recall one player we had on this version of our game complain that 'the game was doomed to fail if it didn't continuously evolve.' It's a shame he left really, but here we still are.
I joined this site quite some time ago and found it quite fun back then. My character was quite different in that he was far more polite, but I decided to revamp him when I returned. I think the theme then was 'Sellswords.'
Through chaotic villainy to stoic resolve as a would be hero, things have evolved for me here. Through Gray's over complicated systems to the simpler ones I have indeed walked through several of his worlds, and will continue so long as he does.
Keep it going bud, you can count on me to show up
That concludes the tribute from the first character made under Gray's crazy worlds

If you sought to live you had naught but run and hide yourself away, but when the weak court death.....they find it. If you wish to challenge me, I will allow it. The choice falls not unto me or to the whims of fate, Tis your alone.
This thread is now closed. I want to thank all of those that participated in letting us know how you found the Menagerie. I enjoyed each and every meeting story offered here.
Thank you all.
