Be sure about Dresden. Outstanding reads, Jim Butcher is far and away my favorite author when I want to immerse myself in a story. His hero is outstanding for his flaws and you get vampires, magic, demons, talking skulls and angels to boot!

“Put some clothes on, you weird, yellow-eyed, table-dancing, werewolf-training, cryptic, stare-me-right-in-the-eyes-and-don't-even-blink wench.”
I've already read Good Omens. I'm not such a fan of Prachett's later works really. He deteriorated rapidly when he become sick. Small Gods and Going Postal were grand, however. Gaiman what to say here. Anazai Boys - outstanding. I love the man, I went to a lecture he spoke at once. I heard him read one of his newer tales, an experience I will never forget.
