Grayell nodded and was alongside the road now, his eyes scanning the tree line. He broke away from her at a casual gate, now close enough to have to lift branches and pick his way through the brush.
"Here. We'll camp here."
He waved her over and steered his horse in between the trees, a suitable but concealed clearing making an ample camping spot for the night.
Grayell offered a "shamens" with a grin and then saw to getting the horses comfortable for the night. He threw up a quick shelter with the aid of his cloak and started a fire, simple enough to keep them warm and heat up some simple rations.
He stared at either the fire or the stars, simply relaxing in silence. Mostly.
Grayell placed her modest portion by her side and stirred at his, not at all interested in the contents of his bowl. He tapped the spoon on the edge of the tin and nodded, placing it down and then messing with the fire some more.
"Yep. A long while. I suppose that's a good thing."
"Well, every time you and I spent any time like this, it's because the world was coming to an end. Some impending doom or horrible circumstance that forced us to work together. Grim tidings Marg."
He shrugged and lost interest in the remnants of his food. Setting it down by the fire, he laid back and got comfortable against his cloak. He picked at something in his tooth before yawning and closing his eyes.
"We had some good times though. But you know, for all the flirting and fussing about, I still have one damned question that I cannot figure out for the life of me."
She kicked off her boots, not feeling particularly hungry by now. This was an old race by now, and it both surprised her and made her slightly suspicious that he had a "question."
Grayell rolled over, away from her and covered up. He tucked in his feet, adjusted his head and put it on his arm. He was smiling smugly, though she couldn't see of course.
"Oh nothing. Don't worry about it. You wouldn't tell me any ways."
She trailed off, taking off the arms of her armor to at least have something to lay on. She was comfortable enough in her armor to sleep in a good portion of it. She laid back again, and pulled her hat back over her face.
