Kiko was struck by a bolt of inspiration, or perhaps it was the memories she could not say. Whatever it was, Kiko wanted to favor this new connection with some thing of significance.
Neko could not communicate on her own without manipulating the shadows; a dark magic. While she had to give accolades to her for being inventive enough to use her magic in such a fashion, Kiko knew it could easily cause her problems.
Kiko was quite aware of how hard it was to fit in. She had landed on a brand new continent barely able to speak the language. Without the support and facile tongue of the ship's Captain she might never have found a job or a temporary home with The Exodus League. But, that support did not help her fit in. Many assumed she was a bedmate and favorite. She had dealt with that as best she could. It had not been pleasant.
"Neko? Walk with me?"
Kiko gestured toward the tree house and headed in. She stopped when reaching a leather and brass bound trunk and tossed the lid up. Inside the trunk were a few items Kiko kept packed away. She had not opened it in months, perhaps even years. Her eyes went to the tsuka of the Wolf sword poking out from the rest. A clutch of pain twisted her insides into knots. Still, her fingers went slowly over the pattern.
Katsurou.
She squeezed her eyes closed and shook her head. Kiko pulled her hands from the trunk and shut the lid. She was holding a pair bracers against her chest when she turned to face Neko.
"The Wolf gave me these some years ago. Today I give them to you. Wear one of them on your arm. Give the other to the person you wish to talk to and they will understand you."
Bracers of Communication
- A pair of Bracers which were once worn by a great wizard and his significant other.
- These bracers permit telepathic communication between two separate characters in one adventure.
- The wearer may loan one bracer to another character. That character must equip that bracer.
- $125.
