Like the others, the brief commotion caught Ama's attention, but she couldn't see anything past the two large men and didn't think enough of it to get up out of her chair, despite the fact that she could have sworn she had heard Vandal's voice. She shook her head. Was probably someone else. The young demoness' thoughts quickly returned to the conversation at hand.
Dani needed more help and, if the prospect of no pay was going to be a determining factor in these two giants' participation, Ama was going to have to appeal to their pride, just in case they had thoughts of turning away.
"I'm sure a couple of brave, strong, well-muscled men like yourselves could - out of the goodness of your hearts - aid a damsel in distress. No doubt you've both fought many battles and slain great numbers of foes. I bet your honor would demand this of you, eh?"
Ama raised her half-empty drink and, having her back turned once again from the Soren duo, gave Dani a mischievous wink. Then, the blue-haired girl drank deep from her flagon of ale. But as she did, she couldn't help but continue to study the wild-looking Sonari, fascinated by the strange marking upon her face.
The gold was not Miroslaw's primary concern. The last run in he had with these creatures his party took a great many injuries. They only scarcely scratched the surface of their dwelling and were injured beyond continuing at first encounter.
Upon hearing that the elves had moved out of their ailing forest, Miroslaw concern grew even more. It seemed their infection was spreading. Perhaps after this, he would take his findings to Alexander, and see what he has done about their corruption since their adventure.
As the Haisheth began stroking his ego, Miroslaw let her finish before he spoke. "Of course we will help you ladies, no payment needed. A fair share of the loot will be just fine." He gave a large awkward smile to the ladies.
From his experiences the creatures were well equipped and ripe for picking when they are dead. He also felt little problem with killing the blood thirsty things. They seemed to be quite eager for moving into the afterlife.
Death is no more than turning us over from time to eternity. Whether that eternity is damnation or salvation is determined in the time we have.
If Zarr didn't know any better, he would have sworn that the Haisheth was flirting with them to try and get them to aid her and the Sonari girl. Zarr would not have cared whether she did so or not, a damsel in distress is a damsel in distress and he would always help a helpless woman in need of his strength.
That's right! We will push these pointy ears away from your village and take whatever loot they have as they run for their very lives.... When do we leave?
Zarr seemed eager to start on his next journey already. He was ready to test the abilities of these thorn elves, as he usually did with all the other races he has fought before in his previous battles protecting his land as a soldier.
::She smiles and gives a nod of acceptance. It wasn't an army, but it was all she had. She just hoped it was enough to find the answers she was looking for.::
"Great!
We'll leave tomorrow morning at first light. That should give everyone time to gather what supplies they think they'll need and get a good nights rest before we hit the road.
We'll meet at the North Gate."
::Truth be told, she needed a bit of time to sleep off the effects of the ale, but she didn't want to admit that in front of everybody. She pushed herself to her feet, pausing a moment to make sure they were going to stay beneath her, and then headed for the door with a wave to everyone.::
"I do not aim with my hand; he who aims with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I aim with my eye.
I do not shoot with my hand; he who shoots with his hand has forgotten the face of his father.
I shoot with my mind.
I do not kill with my gun; he who kills with his gun has forgotten the face of his father.
I kill with my heart."
Now she knew the time and place of departure, Ama also decided to turn in for the evening. It'd probably be smart to stop off at the store along the way too.
"See you good folks bright and early tomorrow."
As the young demoness stood up she was glad she had stuck to one ale. She was going to need to keep a clear head for the next day.
Ama threw Dionne a friendly wave before leaving. Bye!
He was looking at getting drunk that night, but he knew it would be a bad idea to go into a battle tipsy. He watched both ladies leave the tavern and figured he should do the same to prepare and get some sleep. Nodding over to Miro he said...
I suppose we'll celebrate our victory here when we return. Goodnight lad. I shall see you early tomorrow morning.
He left only to return later that night, walking straight to the bartender to fill up his canteen. It would do him no harm to carry it just in case the urge arose during battle. He left afterwards again, yearning to kill some bad guys.
