Tallia tilted her head as she pawed at an ear. This was indeed stumping, for those just looking at what they could see in front of them. Luckily, Tallia had a bit more experience than what Margrett could discern. Leaning down over to the footprints, she took note of the shape, the depth, the smell of it, and tried to process a viable outcome...
The GM had totally forgotten that Tallia had skills in Survival. Margrett watched as she went to work, head low and getting the feel for the world. She could feel that the tracks melded into the ones in the road, but they went away from Wistvale, up the road.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
She arose from the ground, confident in her analysis, as the thief was clever, but not smart enough to outwit the earth itself. Pointing brilliantly, she focused her finger away from the town, along the road.
"T... there..."
It was an almost robotic inflection, as though she was programmed for this one purpose. She let her finger drop, and stood at attention to Margrett.
She nodded her head in agreement. They did need to quicken their pace, lest they make this case a whole deal harder than it should be. Tallia stayed close behind as Margrett walked, making sure to check around her for any outstanding discrepancies or fatal clues.
Tallia's ears twitched suddenly, surprised by Margrett's gesture. She began to relax a little afterward, the feeling plenty delightful. She reddened slightly, as she was a bit pleased to be receiving attention from Margrett...
As her face deepened in hue, she wondered what exactly Margrett was thinking... A part of her wanted her to focus, but another part would prefer to keep this moment lasting as long as possible...
"N... no... It's... it's fine... ah... b-but... w-w-we... should go... th... the thief..."
She could not continue on with the rest of her sentence, succumbing to Margrett's touch. Besides her eyes beginning to droop, she found herself subconsciously purring in bliss.
Margrett started to realize what was happening as she watch Tallia blush and seemingly start to melt. She let go of the kitten's head, patting it once.
Yeah...we should concentrate. She winked, holding back a laugh.
I'll save that for later.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Her ears lowered in embarrassment as Margrett released her from her grasp... she wasn't quite expecting that to happen today... she let out a quiet sigh of relief that they didn't get stuck somewhere playing around; they had some serious business to attend to...
After a bit they reached the docks, a small series of shacks and planks along the large inland lake near Wistvale. Margrett looked from one end of the boardwalk to the other, putting her hands on her hips.
Any ideas, kitten?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Having to have tracked one before, she began to think as a thief would. It was usually the best way to hunt them, for... whatever reason that may be... Trying not to lose herself in that part of her mind, she looked around for their means of escape.
"Hm... if... the water was their only option... we should... check to see who... who manages this place... they might have seen them... c-checking for any... disturbances... in the water would be good... they... might have swam away...?"
Nodding in agreement, she took off in the opposite direction, keeping low to the ground and scanning for more clues. Could it really be that important...? To require a vessel of transport just for one item...? This seemed to get stranger and stranger to her... Despite this, she was determined to find out what was going on. This could turn out to be a bigger scandal than previously thought for Wistvale, and now that it was her duty, she must protect the town... Leaving her lingering thoughts aside, she checked the docks up and down, hopeful that she'd come across something to further the investigation, even going so far to check of any dropped items in the water.
