(Wolf, Zaedus you are both welcome to join this thread. It is my intention to make this Kiko’s training regimen, and hopeful get some battle scenes going. Maybe it’ll kick start some other ides, too. For new players such as Kat & Shen if you wish to spar you are welcome to join as well.
DISCLAIMER I’m not telling anyone they cannot join. However, I’m winging this and plan to keep it open ended, with training sessions constantly going on. For those of you who have other commitments and post rarely this will probably go fast at times. Plus, I’m not an experienced GM, so bear with me.)
Kiko looked up. Rain clouds that had been threatening all day were stacked up on the horizon line and blotted out the sun. It turned the blue lake to a dull, steel gray which suited her mood. Kiko settled down among the bones of the fire pit she and the Wolf often shared. She was dressed, simply enough, in the short kimono she often favored worn over a pair of cotton leggings and soft tabi boots on her feet.
The weapons the Wolf had given her had been pulled off her hip. She placed them both across her thighs; still sheathed. Her fingertips ran across the tsuba of the katana, the speed of the weapon was incredible. A thin smile curved Kiko’s mouth when she thought of the battle with the Headsman. Her hand left the katana for the dagger lying in front of it. She was not used it; that was a fact, and the shape and balance had broken her rhythm more than once.
Nevertheless, she would become use to it, and it started right now. First off it was a stabbing weapon, not a slashing one as her tanto had been. She would need to incorporate a new attack; one that utilized it to better effect beyond just the furious attempts she had made against the teeth and eyes of the bodiless Headsman.
Kiko stood back up and resheathed both weapons. She slung the small backpack off her shoulders and dropped it beside the fire pit. She collected an armful of dead and dried out wood and tossed it beside the pit, as well. She wasn’t particularly hungry, but there would be plenty of fish in the lake now and she would be hungry afterwards.
