His heart rammed into his throat and it tightened in response. Nothing. He looked at her now, eyes wide, worried and wet, clear glitter on his cheeks. His mouth felt dry... pathetic. Nothing. For all his strength, at this very moment; he felt none of it.
Then her hand twitched and a chill struck him like the wind. It took him a moment to register, the fears abated just enough for him to act. He pulled her closer, lifted her into his arms now. He brought her to his chest, clutched her greedily, desperate to see those eyes open.
Kiko... come on now. Don't do this.
His voice was pleading, needy. His eyes were still lost and salty streaks now met his lips, cold and terrifying. His hand brushed her cheek again, stroked it gently as if to bring her to life. He held her tight, shuffled restlessly and then looked up. This way.. back to the door... to the ceiling... he had no answer. Eyes fell on her again and he could do nothing. He was worried... and it was welling within him now.
No. Don't you f**king dare. You don't f**king dare leave me Kiko. Not now.
The water broke from his eyes now, he breathed the tears through his nose, he blinked fast to clear his vision. He rocked, so very gently and without thought, holding her against him. His thumb found her lip, pried it down and he winced.
A tear fell, splashed upon her lips. He chased it. He pressed his mouth to hers, his lips wet with his tears, his heart on his mouth, his fear in the kiss. She did not respond and he closed his eyes, pressed his forehead to her mouth, clutching her tight. He was lost.. and a sob broke from his throat to blur the words.
No.. You f**king wake up. I need you Kiko.....
He sighed, needed air as he looked at her again, chewing his lip and lost, alone in the world now. He had no response, he had no answer and in this moment, his life damn near died in his arms. Darkness came back to him and nothing was there, his wolf cowered before it, lost and hopeless.
He didn't know what to do. He had no prayers, he had no magic that could stir her from this. Every fear he had neglected this day was now upon him, all of the banter seemed so foolish, so arrogant. He would not let his be, could not let this end.
He sniffed again, nodded as if to ready himself, to fight denial. He swallowed hard, found his breath for but a moment. His voice was defiant now and completely without strength. He had nothing else.
No. Not like this. I won't let you... you hear me? Not on your life kiddo, not on mine.
Grayell snarled then and his lips curled back, teeth flashing his anger. His right canine plucked his lip inward and he pinched it, forced skin to break. It spilled into his mouth, coated his tongue and trickled to his chin.
He took one long breath, an eternity to search her closed eyes for something... before he kissed her. His life was hers and it rode on the crimson that trickled into her mouth. He willed it to make her move, he urged his wolf into her. He stayed there, ready to die on her lips were nothing given back and his blood, tainted with more love than magic at this moment, burst into her body, blooming.
