Sorry. My memory's a little....off sometimes. Anri said that I know too much about science, and it pushes everything else out. He chuckled and looked around, then at his flamer.
Partially...I want to go test this out on something. Normally I hate....adventure but I'm curious.

(I hadn't considered fuel as much, but I can stop by the workshop or something or we can make that the adventure, going to get more.) The pilot light went out, and Chaz kicked the starter again.
Hmm...well, I would like to. Looks like I'm dry.

"Heh. I suppose it would be a little too perfect if the device could fire forever. What does it use for fuel? Do you know where to get more?"
Simeon knew there couldn't be fire without fuel--something to burn. When the cathian said he was dry, the monk could only assume that meant the fire-shooter was out of fuel.

An oil mixture, like the stuff they light lanterns with. I treat it with some other chemicals to make it more volatile. He put the flamer back on the wagon and picked up the handle of it.
We can pick some up in town if you want.

Simeon nodded, "Sure. You've really piqued my interest. Thanks for letting me tag along. I've never seen anything like this before and it's really quite fascinating!" After a pause he added, "Do you need help loading the wagon?"
((We can skip to the town where the workshop is. Describe the scene if you can. I'm not sure what the shop looks like. I'll mix something up for a bit of fun but it won't go very long.))
((The workshop is his blacksmith shop in Wistvale. We'll stay in this thread but go there ICly.)) Chaz led Simeon back to the blacksmith shop, backing into the door and pulling the wagon inside. On the right was the forge and anvil, along one wall an array of tools and metal objects. Further to the right, along the facing wall, was his hammock and a door to a closet. On the left was a workbench, easily a dozen feet across and covered in a convoluted mishmash of metal and tools and leather and glass. None or very little of the walls were finished, and some of the wood was blackened by smoke. The floor was stone tiles, dirty and tarnished.
Ever so humble. Don't mind the mess. He grinned and laid the flamer on his workbench, then went to a large reservoir on the far end of the desk, checking the levels and pulling a long pipe section from the clutter on on his desk.
Should only take a moment...

Simeon was slightly confused. He had expected something... outlandish? Perhaps a bit mysterious and confusing... He hadn't expected a blacksmith's shop. However, some of the things on the workbench seemed a little closer to what he had expected. He gazed over the various trinkets, shards and pieces of constructs in varying sizes and shapes. Seeing one peculiar contraption with a tightly would spring and an antenna, Simeon stretched out his hand intending to touch the device. "What does this thing do?"
Chaz dropped the pipe and rushed over to take the device out of Simeon's hands.
No! No no no no nooo...no. He picked it up by the antenna and put it on the desk, letting out a sigh. He put on some gloves and shrugged sheepishly at Simeon.
Sorry. Sorry. This, uh...this is something I was working on after I got hit by lightning. He blinked.
I mean...well, actually I did get hit by lightning. I didn't mean to. But I did. Umm...watch.
He turned the key on the device, and set it down as the key unwound. There was a buzzing and sparking, and the antenna fizzled with electricity. A bolt of blue leaped off and ground itself on one of the tools on the desk, causing Chaz to yelp despite himself. After a moment it stopped, the spring unwound again. Chaz picked it up again, looking it over.
Haven't been able to, uh...direct the energy. Yet. I'm confident I can soon, though.

Simeon was thoroughly impressed, "That's rather--spectacular! You do not cease to amaze, my friend. I'm suppose I should be rather careful about what I touch." Simeon nodded at the cathian apologetically.
((Not a problem! We'll just continue from here. That's understandable that you forgot. It happens. This is just a game anyway. Just finish getting the fuel. That's a good place to start. Maybe consider bringing some extra to replace it just in case.))
