Well, it seems that our hierarchy in this town isn't quite standing up to scrutiny. I don't have any dreams of turning Wistvale into something it's not, but I know someone with a head full of ideas and some experience in this sort of thing.
So. You want to be a guard all your life?
Grayell said it simply enough, he wasn't all grrr look how serious I am. A light hearted tone perhaps.
She raised her head a little, looking a tad more proud. Her smile widened almost imperceptibly. She reflected briefly that if he was trying to say he was sorry, it was working.
That depends on what other opportunities there are, sir.
He blew air from his lips in a rasberry fashion and then yawned. He looked out the window again and then back to her shrugging. He was either bored, an idiot, or acting completely... oblivious.
Well you know, sometimes you just need a plan and a good friend to make opportunities.
Grayell smiled in a manner that quite plainly called her bluff, he shrugged and chuckled.
I don't have a plan Blueberry. We need a change. Something better, you said it yourself. And I am about done giving a crap. I think I'm happier just putting the fear of the gods into whatever crap rolls into town next.
I need to get out of this office. I'd invite you to the hot springs for another meeting but we'd hardly get any work done.
He thought about that, scratched his chin as he did so.
Hm. Mayor is a big deal. We can't just have one. And that would be something of a monopoly on things. Not to sure about a mayor.
Plus... say you were mayor. I'd have to make an appointment just to call by and be a nuisance. And I'd have to be all proper, you'd have an image to uphold after all.
This is a tiny, tiny town. A mayor would just be the glorified judge, jury, and executioner. I wouldn't have that much an image to uphold, except that people would look up to me.
Sure. And you'd be the priority target in town for scum bags and murderers. No, not sure it's a good idea.
He drew a breath and let it go slowly, relaxing.
Besides, I am not sure you'd a be a good fit. I'm not sure you could convince me either. You're... too much of a fighter. I don't see you as a diplomat and I am not sure you can handle people.
He laughed a little. Regardless if him having his face smashed in, she did like to beat the crap out of people.
Then what? Well I don't know. That's where I leave it with you.
He stretched as he got off his leaning on the table and stopped as he moved to the door.
I'm a simple man and I would like to keep it that way. I know what I am good at and I know what this town needs. I hate bloody paperwork though and have a mind to kick Orp and Serenity in the ass.
So. When you come up with something, you let me know. You know where to find me. That... or we can just hang out some time. If you can go a day without being upset at me.
She got up, stepping behind him, a little exasperated.
What I've come up with is just that, a singular organized head of government. Checked and balanced with the Council if you want. Then she sighed, rolled her eyes.
But yes. I'll come up with something later. We'll...see about me being upset at you. That depends on how you act...or what you do.
He gave her a smug smile and followed her out, opening the door for her to the street.
You know, I have plans of my own Margrett. It's going to be a wild ride I assure you.
Later Blueberry. Stay ripe.
Now he returned the wink as he headed off. It made him laugh to see them so flippant about what was only tension in the past. But.... he had someone else he wanted to see.
