Venom's eyes slowly begin to open, eyes blurry looking at the orc. Venom was really not focused at the spar between the two. It was probably a bad idea talking and fighting at the same time.
Venom was still lost as to what had happened. He sat up for as second and looked around the room. He moved his jaw from side to side and then grabbed Kerag's hand to get back up.

Kerag nodded and patted Venom on the back.
"Perhaps you should clear your head before we try sparring again. Despite what happened to Grayell, the Commander can handle himself. Renquist and his brood are in another league altogether. You didn't fight him Venom, you have no idea how impossible he was..."
Kerag sighed.
"It's up to us brother...we have to become guards and keep Wistvale safe. If you haven't noticed, besides Tallia we're the only other recruits and the guard has but three as it is. We have to set an example and keep some semblance of order in town. Maybe you can find atonement in this endeavor."
Venom rubbed his chin. His face was still in pain from the punches received from Kerag.
I wanted to, but I had to make sure the girls were safe first. I did not think it would end so quickly. Forgive me for not backing you up then brother. I thought I'd be back in time to help you guys, but I was wrong. I didn't realize his speed and power until he fought Grayell in the council.
He thought for a second.
I just don't see why they have to leave when we're so short handed, leaving only one true experienced guard and a few trainies to watch over Wistvale. Regardless, the decision has already been made and there seems to be no way to change their mind. As you said it, it will be up to us then... I need some time to think.
Venom walks over to pick up his stuff and heads to the exit.

Kerag silently nodded, wanting to continue their conversation but knowing his brother all too well to pursue him right now. No, Venom needed time to contemplate. Kerag couldn't disagree much with his thoughts, but instead of despairing about the condition of the guard and their immense responsibility, he saw the situation as an opportunity to make his mark. The orc strapped his armor back on and left after Venom.
