On her day off, Margrett took Tallia to the market on one of the days it was booming, a bustling series of carts and stalls and racks. She pointed out a series of racks of women's clothing, and patted Tallia on the shoulder.
Go ahead, pick anything you like....within reason. Can't have you breaking my wallet first time we go out, huh?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia looked around, taken aback by the rich, lively atmosphere the market presented. It was rare when she could simply observe others and not worry about herself. Her head whizzed around faster than her eyes, making it a sight to see her spinning in the marketplace. One could almost mistake her for a dancer. She turned to Margrett, her eyes almost twinkling and her mouth agape with excitement.
"Re... really? A... anything...?"
She didn't even hold to hear her response, instead running over to the stalls and looking over the various articles of clothing, showing interest something a little form fitting, or something casual, or maybe something, or a little feisty looking, or...
She blurted it out as though it was one continuous word, without losing her focus from the delicate pieces of fabric. Through her scouring, she came across a long, beautiful scarf. It kinda matched Margrett's skin color... Wrapping it around herself, she examined it from every angle as it flowed down her back. Already her first purchase had been found... "Purchase"... That's a word she didn't really establish in her dictionary... She was following things by the book this time, so she looked towards Margrett, with a will-you-buy-this-for-me-pretty-please look on her face.
Margrett was put off guard, somehow not expecting the girl to know her measurements right off the top of her head. She looked over from a nearby table of clothes.
Mhmm. Brings out your eyes. Go ahead.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Excitedly, she jumped up and down before delicately handing off the scarf to Margrett, speeding off towards a stall for something for her torso. Sifting through the uniforms, she came across nothing in particular, although she had found quite a few cute dresses... doubtful that Margrett would fully indulge on her spending spree, she decided it was best to prioritize her spending. Giving out a short sigh, she looked a bit more until she had found it; something perfect (or purrfect, as some might say) for her. A nice, flexible, breathable form-fitting uniform, designed for those that take up acrobatics or dancing. Without thinking a second more, she snatched one up off of the stand and ran over to Margrett. The look on her face could pretty much stop anyone from saying no to her. She held it up with both of her hands, her tail wagging to and fro.
She rolled her eyes playfully and took the uniform from her, looking it over.
I'm beginning to regret this. You sure you want this? Doesn't look like it would protect a whole lot. Then she realized she wasn't buying armor and sighed.
Nevermind. I doubt you could carry around plate. You going to look for pants now?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Nodding her head more than three times (it was hard to count), she headed off to see what kind of lower garment she could buy. A skirt? No, much too extravagant. Pants? A little too restrictive. She settled for some shorts, instead, a likely medium of comfort and protection. With a burrow of the selection, she managed to pull up some dark green mid-length shorts. She figured they looked OK... why not? Running over to Margrett, she daintily dropped the pair into her arms before disappearing to find some new footwear, not exactly waiting for her approval.
Looking over the latest selections of boots, she easily came over to her next purchase. A new model, said to be light, and for lots of movement. They were about mid calf length, not sacrificing protection over mobility and comfort... perfect for her, since she was always on the move. With a nod to no one in particular, she picked up a pair in a slightly dark orange color. On her way over to Margrett, she almost literally skidded to a stop in front of a few jackets. With a passing interest, she skimmed through them fairly quickly, but came upon a light vest that would go well with her very dark purple uniform. It had quite a few pockets, both on the inside and out, making it ideal for wear if she did not want to go with her tool belt. She considered wearing it in a color that wasn't dark for once, but she didn't want to look like a jester's rejected outfit. Never one to stand out, she also felt it would put a bit of attention on her. Maybe some other time, she thought. For now, she grabbed a vest in blue. She smiled as she trotted towards Margrett, pretty satisfied with her choices. Placing them with the other selections with Margrett, she clapped her hands together and lifted a leg into the air.
"All... done...♥"
She then stepped close to her to give her a great, big hug.
Margrett was covered in clothes that weren't hers, a little irritated, and about to be a lot poorer, but she couldn't resist that face. She laughed and put all the clothes on one arm, hugging the little catgirl back, even lifting her off the ground a bit. She put her back and smiled.
You done? Let's go see how many meals I'm skipping. Before she could say anything, she patted her head.
Joking. Let's go.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
The lady merchant smiled as they approached and perhaps it was the nice GM glad to see them not molesting one another, or perhaps it was that they didn't buy any actual armor and so on or maybe it was someone tempted to have an npc refer to marg and another character as a couple and talk about how sweet they were but....
The lady merchant refused to take any gold.
"No luv, you guards have a 'ard enough time earnin' it. 'Sides, wouldn't be in business if it aint for you lot. Your money's no good 'ere."

Suspended in disbelief alongside Margrett, it took her a second to process what the lady merchant just said. Regaining her composure, she smiled greatly and performed a deep bow.
"Th... thank you... very much...!"
With the deed done, she faced Margrett. She was definitely ready to try them on.
