The woman quivered and she recoiled a bit as the doctor handed her a metal cup.
"Drink all of that. You'll fall into a deep sleep. I'll get you fully cleaned up then, miss."
The woman starts to drink but keeps her eyes on the doctor. She takes a few glances at the bodies around her. They appear look like they are sleeping, or dead.
Then she pulled the jar, the map, and the paper not out of her pack and put them on a nearby table.
Then explain this.

"She died approximately 85 hours. She is no longer in that condition.
The pidgeon was my first successful attempt at raising the dead. The brains can be switched and different locations can be given to the same bird. How did you get that?"
The doctor walks along a line of bodies and grasps a few wrists, putting two fingers on the underside and waiting a second.
I got a complaint about a house downtown that had noises coming from it like an animal being tortured. I went in and found a lab, like yours, but it was obvious they were working on birds and not people.
Margrett watched him a moment, not sure how she felt about the whole raising the dead thing.
How...did you do that?

She sighed and rubbed her eyes again. Blood magic was frowned upon but not illegal, but she began to feel like she was being led around.
Do you know anything about that house I mentioned?

Margrett was silent again. Definitely felt like the run-around now.
Fine. Fine. I'll be keeping an eye on you. Good evening, Doctor.
She went to leave.
