She flashed a smile, reveling the comment to her abilities. Not very many of them were said for them in the past... She nodded to signal her intention of doing so, leaping into the air and displaced marks upon several trees around the surrounding area. Sprinting ahead, she ran for about a minute until coming to a complete stop and clearing her mind. She closes her eyes...
With concentration and reflex, she bounces from tree to tree, slashing each mark through and not even bothering to regard the ground. After she comes to terms with the last mark, she gracefully lands onto the ground, on one knee and arms spread, sword still in hand. With a flash, she twirls her sword around skillfully, and tries to return it to its scabbard, but fumbles the sword before it can get close. She hurriedly picks it up and sheathes it, turning to Grayell and placing an arm over her head.
Although she accepts the compliment, she still feels she can she can do much better. Leaving that aside, she gives another warm smile to Grayell, pleased that she received praise once more.
"Um... Thank you..."
She nervously fidgeted as she reminded herself that this wasn't really supposed to be shown to anyone...
You miss, are very welcome. So, would you like to see what I was doing? I think you're going to have a knack for it. In fact, you may be able to help me... being that I'm all old and busted.
He chuckled. Shit it was the truth though.
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Her hand returned to her side as head tilted towards the other. She gave a puzzled look as she ran the words through her head. What could she possibly do that would be on his level? She slowly nodded, interested in seeing where this would lead to.
Grayell led her through the woods and into the small gully where he had placed the plumb poles. He removed his swords belt and cloak, his shirt. He looked over them and then leaned against one, his hand on the top.
Ever seen these before? Think you can figure them out?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
She studied the objects closely. They seemed so foreign to her... With a shrug, a shake of the head, and a apologetic look, she signified her own confusion.
She accepted his hand and climbed up with him. Losing balance for a moment, she steadies herself a bit before standing fully to face Grayell. She looks to him, her mind trying to analyze the situation.
Grayell steps back and now there is a gap between them of course, though it is not large. He stands on one pole and raises a leg.
The purpose of the plum poles is mainly balance. But if you don't move, then you're just balancing and that's hardly a challenge. By moving, you train your muscles to balance without you thinking about it.
He pivots, slowly extends his leg.
I imagine you're cut out from this. So... how about we talk. You ah, ever been back east?
Tallia "There are some things... that we all can't escape from..."
Tallia mimicked Grayell's stance, taking to one leg. It couldn't hurt to refine her balance a bit. Though this method was much safer than the ones she'd used in the past... To his question, she shook her head. Had something special happened there?
