Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Well," gasps Alec, "for one, you stop someone from sharing your fate. If that does nothing for you, I can pay you. A paltry sum, but it's something."
Come in under the shadow of this red rock, and I will show you something different from either your shadow at morning, striding behind you, or your shadow at evening, rising to meet you. I shall show you fear in a handful of dust.
Rue glared at Skulduggery. She knew that with her stunning level 0 in Brawn, there was no hope in carrying Alec to safety behind the trees. However, maybe if she dragged him carefully, she would be able to make it behind the rock on which the skeleton sat. Your rock my ass, she thought.
"Okay," she said to Alec. "I'm going to try and bring you behind the rock. If you can, try and push yourself along the ground as much as you can. If this is too painful, just tell me to stop."
She bent down and lifted Alec's torso off the ground, carrying him from under his arms, trying not to bend his back or move his body at all, really. She gently began to drag him towards the rock on which Skulduggery perched, limping as she went. What's he gonna do if we go behind 'his' rock, attack us? She doubted it.
The two made it to the rock without any more arrows attempting to staple them to the ground, but the pain they endured with both injuries was tremendous. The enemy had to be watching and would be foolish to neglect the fact that they were so severely injured.

"You're a healer, aren't you? Heal yourself first," Alec grunts. "Your wound is the lesser, and you've got a bow." Laying himself against the rock, he looks up at the skeletal figure perched there. "If I die," he hisses, "I'm going to haunt your ass."

Ignoring Skul, Rue began tending to their injuries. She knelt on her unharmed leg and began to draw out the arrow from her other leg. It was buried deep in her thigh, this wasn't going to be fun. Holding the arrow shaft with one hand, she pointed the fingers of her other hand toward where the arrowhead was buried in her leg. As she slowly drew out the arrow with one hand, a red light traveled from her fingertips into the gash on her leg, helping her to gently work the arrow out of her thigh. As she pulled it out, blood began to flow freely from the wound. Placing the arrow on the ground, she pointed her fingers once more at the wound. The blood flow slowed down and finally stopped. The skin around the wound began to close up until it was completely gone. She leaned back on her heels, wiped her bloody hands on her jeans, and turned to Alec.
"I need to turn you onto your stomach so just lie still," she said.
She turned him from leaning against the rock to laying flat on his stomach in the grass. Using the same magic she had used to repair her arrow wound, she repaired his. However, she knew there was most likely internal damage done. After the arrow wound had closed up, she placed the palm of one hand over where the mark had been. Closing her eyes, she concentrated until a greenish aura seeped into Alec's skin.
"Try and move now, tell me if anything still hurts and where."
Hoping she had done her job well, she leaned back against the rock. Healing was exerting, and alleviating their wounds had exhausted her.

Stretching languidly, and standing, Alec bites his tongue as something pinches in his back. "Fine. Stiff. Something. Pinching. Get it off. Or out. Please?"

Yawning, Rue stood up next to Alec and placed her fingertips on his back. A gold light spread out from her fingers, covering almost his entire back. It disappeared into his skin, and Rue gently massaged the place where the pinching feeling was coming from. She then sat back down next to the rock, leaning her head against it and closing her eyes.
"Okay, that should have taken care of it. Now, how about a nap?"
Alec [M:118:6:][D3v:http://rpgmenagerie.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cs&thread=412&page=1#1242]"I see," said the blind man to the deaf lady.[0:Wandering the stacks.][1:Present and accounted for.]
"Sounds like a great idea," Alec puffs, hauling her up by the shoulders, "if you'd like to die. Which, surprise surprise, I wouldn't." Setting her against the rock, standing, he peers around the rock, towards the forest. "Great......guess all that's to be done is wait."

It might have occurred to our brave adventurers that being in the open led to them getting ambushed. That might indicate the enemy was indeed waiting for them, in the same woods the cart was attacked.
It might also occur to them that waiting in the open for this stealthy opponents might not lead to much of anything. They could likely forget this incident, have a cup of tea; and then head home. Perhaps.
"No, we can't wait any longer. The longer we wait, the more vulnerable we are out here in the open. Besides, if they come back, who knows what kind of reinforcements they'll bring?"
Rue started walking towards the forest.
"The trees will give us cover, and maybe we can find out anything about who our attackers were and why they set that cart on fire."
